Session One - The Great Apple Pie Quest
[2023/02/22 15:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: Greeeeeeeeeeetings Adventurers, welcome to the den of the deranged Dungeon Mistress Sonja; some players get adventures that make sense, you get whatever diabolical schemes a warped sadist can conjure up.

[2023/02/22 15:08] Alicia Frakture: Little guys were beaten, cleric was damaged bad and we were about to bring her inside for safety
[2023/02/22 15:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: and magic power used
[2023/02/22 15:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: you might want to retreat a little way to recover; or you can try to hole up in a place that seems less than friendly, or you can press on, or... what would you do?
[2023/02/22 15:11] Alicia Frakture: Place here makes a good shelter and I don't wanna move badly injured cleric more than necessary
[2023/02/22 15:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: alright... what you going to do?
[2023/02/22 15:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will quickly check over the goblin bodies for any gear worth looting from them. Relatedly, she is proficient in Appraisal.
[2023/02/22 15:12] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is going to gently, very gently lift the Cleric*I think she passed out last game* and go into the nearby building.
[2023/02/22 15:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: A quick search of the bodies reveals some crude weapons, a few copper coins (7 total), a couple of crude drawings on barks, and two used hankies.
[2023/02/22 15:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: The nearby building is all closed and shut up.
[2023/02/22 15:14] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She'll grab the coins and whatever of the weapons looks like it might be useful as something to hide up a sleeve.
[2023/02/22 15:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: They're literally flint tools that have been given crude wooden handles.
[2023/02/22 15:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Eh, pass on those then. The woods probably more useful as firewood after being smeared with goblin fluids. She'll head over to help Leesha haul the cleric girl.
[2023/02/22 15:16] Alicia Frakture: Is the door locked? and does the building look abandoned?
[2023/02/22 15:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The building has that abandoned, run down look, but bearing in mind the creatures came from around the side of it, it could well be home to their tribe.
[2023/02/22 15:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Any other outbuildings or walls?
[2023/02/22 15:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: Without searching the entire grounds, from where you're standing, this appears to be it. Just the building (a farmhouse/store by the looks of it), a wall, the driveway to the road, lots of trees
[2023/02/22 15:20] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Any windows?
[2023/02/22 15:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Yes, they're crudely boarded up.
[2023/02/22 15:20] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Leesha, you're tall. Can you see through those boards?"
[2023/02/22 15:21] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at Debben."Can you watch her I'm gonna search the place for trouble, but out ehre we're too exposed"
[2023/02/22 15:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Yeah, I'll do what I can."
[2023/02/22 15:22] Alicia Frakture: Leesha sets the Cleric down and begins searching around the building.
[2023/02/22 15:22] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's probably two main possibilities - towards the orchard area, or to the other direction.
[2023/02/22 15:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will watch over their cleric, not really strong enough to move her around on their own (STR 8)
[2023/02/22 15:24] Alicia Frakture: Was just going to walk around the building to see what she can see
[2023/02/22 15:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Yep, not very strong.
[2023/02/22 15:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: which way would you go first? To, or from the orchard area?
[2023/02/22 15:25] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: That's to Leesha?
[2023/02/22 15:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: yep
[2023/02/22 15:25] Alicia Frakture: Direction of the Orchard
[2023/02/22 15:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: “The scent of apples is even thicker here. The older trees are arranged in neat orderly rows, but the saplings that have sprouted since the goblins took over are everywhere. There is a whispering sound that doesn’t seem to come from just the leaves rustling in the wind. Early ripened apples litter the ground. As you approach, one of them flies through the air, narrowly missing your heads. The sound of whispering is joined by the sound of giggling.”
[2023/02/22 15:27] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks around the orchard, staying close to the building, keeping an eye out for trees or goblins throwing apples
[2023/02/22 15:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: No apples are thrown while you're looking, but the odd one flies from directions you aren't looking, but not from the building, and they seem to come from the trees
[2023/02/22 15:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: Voices, giggling: "That's one big goblin!" "Watch this, I'll get them between the eyes!"
[2023/02/22 15:30] Alicia Frakture: Leesha sighs and keeps moving around the building, looking through any windows to see if it."Save it kindling, got enough issues." She growls
[2023/02/22 15:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: A very accurately thrown apple thumps into the back of your head, stunning you and causing 1hp damage. A voice titters, "Got'em!"
[2023/02/22 15:33] Alicia Frakture: *If I may...*
[2023/02/22 15:34] Alicia Frakture: The stun is more from frustration at the hit than any damage."I hope you all get termites." She grumbles as she still tries to look in the windows
[2023/02/22 15:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Told you, it's another of those disgusting greenies." "With a nasty mouth!" "We got plenty of apples, and they ain't so smart or tough! Let's get'em!"
[2023/02/22 15:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: There aren't too many windows round the side; just a few small high up windows that have been boarded over. Round the back, it appears to be a fairly large courtyard, perhaps where carts came and went with supplies.
[2023/02/22 15:38] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is gonna pause a moment."Do we really have to fight?" She says exasperated. "Look we got an injured person and I am trying to make sure it's safe inside. If you take it easy I'll come back out and let you pelt me a few times, deal?"
[2023/02/22 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's a pause, then whispered chatter. "Strange talk from greenie." "Greenies strange." "Bad idea to actually kill anything."
[2023/02/22 15:41] Alicia Frakture: So do we have a deal so I can help save the person?
[2023/02/22 15:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: More chatter in whispers. "Very strange greenie!" "No deals with greenies, they disgusting and evil!" "So, throw more apples?"
[2023/02/22 15:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: If only Leesha had a big shield
[2023/02/22 15:43] Alicia Frakture: An idea, Leesha draws her wrench and the first apple she sees flying is going for a baseball swing
[2023/02/22 15:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: this should be good... an apple does indeed fly your way.
[2023/02/22 15:44] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is gonna take a swing
[2023/02/22 15:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: roll a d20... I think over 12 required
[2023/02/22 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: The apple is obviously going to miss, but you swing like a soft ball player and pieces of splattered apple fly in all directions. There's the sound of laughter.
[2023/02/22 15:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's another sound, too, of two creatures cautiously looking round the side of the house. "What this noise?" "Spirits! I tell you, spirits!"
[2023/02/22 15:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben pulls the cleric up against the wall and frowns, looking over to Leesha. About how far away is she and how far are the two creatures?
[2023/02/22 15:48] Alicia Frakture: Leesha actually laughs with them before hearing the creatures, she moves her wrench,a nd waits to get a good look
[2023/02/22 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: Far, they clearly are holding back - for now - and the apple assault has stopped.
[2023/02/22 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: More whispers. "Now what?" "Wait and see." "Hit them with apples!"
[2023/02/22 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: Now what?
[2023/02/22 15:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Leesha! Get back here!"
[2023/02/22 15:52] Alicia Frakture: Did they hear that?
[2023/02/22 15:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: The creatures look around. They heard something, clearly - and they clearly see you!
[2023/02/22 15:54] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head, no time to go back and just charges at them. Taking the chance to try and catch them by surprise
[2023/02/22 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: oh-kay... you catch them by surprise enough to get the first attack in
[2023/02/22 15:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: What do the creatures look like?
[2023/02/22 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Short, green, crudely dressed/equipped
[2023/02/22 15:56] Alicia Frakture: Going for a hard head bonk, either to knock out or kill.
[2023/02/22 15:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: d20
[2023/02/22 15:56] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben finds their hackles raised as they spy yet more goblins coming after them.
[2023/02/22 15:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: and the d6
[2023/02/22 15:58] Alicia Frakture: *So 4 and the +2 to damage, so six*
[2023/02/22 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha charges and swings wildly at the wide-eyed creatures who just stand there stupidly. The wrench doesn't so much connect as literally shatter a skull with a sickeningly loud -crunch-. The creature is dead long before the body hits the ground
[2023/02/22 15:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: The second creature stares at Leesha wildly, then erupts in fury. Bastard monster, you die!" And then it jumps to attack
[2023/02/22 16:00] Alicia Frakture: Leesha tries to grab the other one and bring it face to face with her interrupting its attack.
[2023/02/22 16:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hmmm.... that's a good one... d20
[2023/02/22 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: You grab it - Strength check, d20, roll less than 14 to keep hold
[2023/02/22 16:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben jumps up and makes a running charge with her spear at the grappled goblin.
[2023/02/22 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: Whoops. -lower- than 14! The creature wriggles free
[2023/02/22 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: You make it just in time, Debben - d20
[2023/02/22 16:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (Trombone sounds)
[2023/02/22 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me facepalms
[2023/02/22 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: You charge to attack. You trip on a root. You fall face down on the ground, narrowly missing stabbing yourself with your spear.
[2023/02/22 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Monster attacks Leesha, the crude sword bats against and brushes off her armour uselessly
[2023/02/22 16:04] Alicia Frakture: /me shakes her head and goes for a punch at the thing.
[2023/02/22 16:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: The creature has had enough, it turns tail to flee, bellowing "Monsters! Hundreds of monsters! We all gonna die!"
[2023/02/22 16:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: Now what?
[2023/02/22 16:06] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We need to get out of here," Debben sighs, looking around. "We can scoop up the apples and bake our own damn pie, but it's not worth dying out here for 50 gold."
[2023/02/22 16:06] Alicia Frakture: Where did he flee to?
[2023/02/22 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: Ran round the building; more you can't tell, just that he's lit right on out
[2023/02/22 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: More whispers. "Odd, maybe different greenie!" "And a dwarf. Eww. Dwarf!" "Hush! Maybe friendly."
[2023/02/22 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: A head pokes round from a tree trunk. "...hello!"
[2023/02/22 16:08] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks over at the head, what does she see?
[2023/02/22 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: You just know this is a cliffhanger =^..^=
[2023/02/22 16:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: le gasp!
[2023/02/22 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Not much of one but it's past midnight!
[2023/02/22 16:09] Alicia Frakture: Nice cliffhanger
[2023/02/22 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: that was quite funny
